Day by day
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Depart Arusha in the morning and head to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s hidden gems known for its large elephant populations and striking baobab trees. Enjoy an afternoon game drive spotting giraffes, lions, impalas, and more. The park is especially dramatic in the dry season when animals congregate along the Tarangire River. Arrive at your lodge in time for sunset, followed by dinner under the stars.

Day 2: Full Day in Tarangire National Park
Spend the entire day exploring different zones of Tarangire. Begin with a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. After a relaxed lunch at the lodge, head out for another safari in the late afternoon or enjoy an optional nature walk with a ranger (if permitted). Tarangire’s open plains and woodland habitats make for excellent elephant sightings and birdwatching.

Day 3: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying scenic views of the highlands along the way. Arrive at the crater rim lodge by midday. Spend the afternoon relaxing with stunning views into the crater, or opt for a short guided walk along the rim. Prepare for tomorrow’s descent into one of the most wildlife-dense environments in Africa.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara + Cultural Experience Begins
Early in the morning, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive across its lush floor. Keep your eyes open for the Big Five, especially the elusive black rhino and crater lions. After a picnic lunch, ascend and transfer to Lake Manyara, where your cultural immersion begins.
This afternoon, visit a local farm in Mto wa Mbu to learn about banana, rice, and coffee cultivation. Taste fresh local fruits and homemade banana beer, then continue to a local food tasting experience featuring Tanzanian dishes like ugali, nyama choma, and pilau.

Day 5: Lake Manyara – Mountain Biking, Market & Maasai Boma – Return to Arusha
Start your day with a guided mountain biking tour through the village and along the edges of Lake Manyara, passing farms and spotting monkeys or flamingos near the water. After the ride, explore the local market at Mto wa Mbu where you’ll interact with traders and artisans.
Before departing for Arusha, visit an authentic Maasai boma, where you’ll learn about traditional life, dance with warriors, and hear stories of Maasai customs. Enjoy a final scenic drive back to Arusha in the afternoon.
