The State House, the official office and residence of the President of Uganda is located in Entebbe. Apart from that the National Botanical Gardens are also found in Entebbe. The international airport is also here and there is a good selection of hotels and restaurants

Entebbe is a major town in Uganda. It is located on the northern shores of Lake Victoria and is about 37 kilometers away from Kampala, the capital city. Prior to independence in 1962, Entebbe was for a while the seat of government of the Protectorate of Uganda. The State House, the official office and residence of the President of Uganda is located in Entebbe. The national Botanical Gardens are found in Entebbe. The international airport is also here and there is a good selection of hotels and restaurants. If you are staying at any of the Entebbe hotels you can walk all around the small town, include a trip to the Botanical Gardens, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre and the street market. Entry fees are payable to the gardens and wildlife center.

“River Nile Royal Source”
The city lies on the shores of Lake Victoria. Many activities are available here including boat cruises, waterskiing, white water rafting, golf and horse riding. There are numerous restaurants and cafes catering for visitors. This city is located in southeaster Uganda about an hour’s drive from Kampala and Entebbe. It is the second largest city in Uganda, bit its main attraction for visitors is that it is the site of the source of the River Nile and can be visited on a day trip from either Kampala or Entebbe.It lies on the shores of Lake Victoria. Many activities are available here including boat cruises, waterskiing, white water rafting, golf and horse riding. There are numerous restaurants and cafes catering for visitors.

Kampala was founded in the late 1800s but was actually the political centre of Buganda for a few decades previous. Following Uganda’s turbulent political years in the 1970s, it is now a thriving modern capital city and a relatively safe one. Tourism is on the up in the country generally. The city is set in rolling hills which makes for an attractive backdrop to the sky rise buildings. The central area is packed with modern shops, banks and restaurants and there is a vibrant night life. A colourful traditional market is worth a visit and there are some interested historical sights and gardens. There are several good standard hotels. The Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters are here. This is where gorilla permits are administered. Kampala City Tour. Within the tour is a trip to the Kasubi tombs and museum, craft market, Bulange Palace, Namirembe Cathedral and Rubaga Cathedral.

“Swimming free Lake”
A beautiful remote lake, dotted with tiny islands, in the far west of Uganda. An excellent stop over between the gorilla parks and Kampala and offers places to chill out and enjoy the scenery or canoeing, walking or bird watching.
