Day by day

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Overnight at Lake Manyara

Depart Arusha in the morning and head toward Tarangire National Park, famous for its towering baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Embark on a game drive through its acacia woodlands and open savannahs, where you may also see lions, giraffes, and a rich variety of birdlife. After a picnic lunch and more game viewing, continue your drive to Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight at a lodge nestled in the Rift Valley escarpment.

Day 2: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive up to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari. The crater floor is home to nearly 25,000 animals, including endangered black rhinos, elephants, lions, and hippos around Lake Magadi. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, ascend and transfer to a lodge near the crater rim for an evening at leisure.

Day 3: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, begin your drive toward the Serengeti National Park, traveling through the Ngorongoro highlands and vast savannah plains. Enjoy game viewing en route as you enter the southern and central Serengeti regions, home to lions, cheetahs, zebras, and wildebeests. Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time for dinner and a beautiful Serengeti sunset.

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a full day of game drives in the world-famous Serengeti. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration, as over a million wildebeests and zebras move in search of greener pastures. The park is also known for its big cat population, so keep your camera ready for leopards, lions, and cheetahs. Break for a picnic lunch in the bush and continue game viewing until evening.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive – Serengeti (Optional Activities)

Spend another morning on safari in the Serengeti, focusing on areas you haven’t yet explored. In the afternoon, return to your camp for relaxation and sundowners.

Day 6: Serengeti – Flight or Drive Back to Arusha

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive en route to the Seronera Airstrip for your optional flight to Arusha (recommended for convenience), or begin the scenic drive back via Ngorongoro and Karatu, arriving in Arusha by late afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey.
